As a Host and Villa Owner, David Smart, brings a wealth of experience and commitment to ensuring exceptional stays for our valued guests. Relocating to Koh Samui from Cirencester, UK, in 2005, David's love affair with Thailand began in 1990, with Koh Samui emerging as his favoured destination. Motivated by the prospect of a new business venture, he made the bold decision to establish a thriving rental enterprise on the island. With a background in Cirencester's flooring business, coupled with extensive involvement in property development and rental, David's passion for creating diverse properties flourished in the UK. Seeking a fresh challenge, the allure of Koh Samui became irresistible. Since his move, David has successfully crafted 15 properties, including 11 luxurious villas available for rental. Ranging from 1 to 4 bedrooms, each villa boasts its own private swimming pool, with four offering breathtaking ocean views, all designed in unique and tropical styles. Notably, our flagship Villa Moonstone, a source of great pride, reached completion in January 2020. Navigating the complexities of villa development in a culturally diverse environment has presented intriguing challenges for David, but the rewards have surpassed expectations. The process has allowed him to push the boundaries of creativity and inspiration, resulting in a portfolio of remarkable properties. At Peacefulvillas, David is fuelled by a strong sense of motivation and dedication, engaging with visitors from around the globe who choose to stay and often return to our exclusive villas. In the past 21 years on the island, he has only returned to Europe twice, briefly visiting Milan and Madrid for the love of football and to support his beloved Spurs in the Champions League.

Villa Topaz is a beautiful and exotic Villa situated within the lovely area of Laem Set in the south of the Island. Villa Topaz is totally private and not overlooked. It is ideal for couples, providing a romantic and idyllic location. The villa is conveniently located all on one level. Entering Villa Topaz is a beautiful setting with a lovely 6.5 x 4.0 mtr salt water swimming pool and open plan tropical style Living area, together with an indoor Dining area, with air conditioning. There is also a Lotus Pond, filled with tropical fish and turtles. Walk only a couple of steps from the exotic Living area into the beautiful, refreshing swimming pool together with a jetted plunge pool, surrounded by a lush tropical garden. Sunbeds and parasol are situated beside the pool on the patio. Also a built-in gas barbecue where you can cook fresh fish, meat and vegetables bought from the local markets. Second indoor Dining area also provided with air conditioning, sofa, dining table and chairs and bookcase with a selection of books. The fully fitted Kitchen with microwave, oven, gas hob, refrigerator, freezer, toaster, blender, full crockery and cutlery etc, provides a cool and great place to cook. Enjoy an evening dinner within the romantic setting of Villa Topaz. Small utility area with washing machine. The lovely en-suite double Bedroom, with air conditioning, king size bed and elegant teak furniture, also looks out to the pool, surrounding palm trees and tropical greenery. Hear the surrounding morning birdsong and all the beautiful, tropical sounds. Large en-suite Bathroom provides a tropical feel with large bath tub and separate walk-in shower. Guest wc and outside rain shower located by the pool. Villa Topaz is set within a quiet, rural area, providing 100% privacy, yet within an 8 minute drive you will find a wide range of beautiful restaurants and a lovely, local fishing village. Lamai's large and expansive beach is only a 10 minute drive away.

Villa Topaz is located in the beautiful area of Laem Set, in quiet south of the island. There is a local feel to the area without feeling you are in a 'tourist trap', with authentic Thai restaurants, beautiful unspoiled local beaches, local Thai people and wonderful tropical ambiance. There are many excellent restaurants. Family Thai Restaurant, a 3 min walk from Villa Topaz, together with local Thai store for your basic goods. 5 min walk is elegant Baan Bo Ran village dining, set by beautiful Lotus pond. Popular and healthy Organic Restaurant Sweet Sisters is 800 mtrs away. 600 mtrs is also Les Jardins De La Rhumerie Restaurant, set in lovely garden. Unspoiled and natural, Baan Kao beach is 650 mtrs away. Ocean is shallow here, and may not always be ideal for swimming, but very beautiful and untouristic. Lamai beach, only 10 min drive away, has a large expansive beach and deeper ocean suitable for swimming. Please let us know if you would like a vehicle rental, where we can assist you with this. All our cars are insured, with the guest being responsible, and limited, for the first 20,000 Baht of any damage (no insurance on mopeds where the guest pays for any damage incurred). Guests' responsibility to ensure they also have their own comprehensive Travel & Health Insurance, and appropriate driving documentation for Thailand. All our vehicles have a full tank of petrol for you. Please ensure you return the vehicle at the end of your stay with a full tank. No 'off-roading' or driving in harsh terrain. A rental car is not to be driven off the island. For grocery shopping you have Lotus's Superstore and large food supermarket, Makro, both 12 min drive away. The southern part of the island, where the villa is located, remains pretty much unspoiled, especially compared to the north, where it makes driving more pleasurable. The south still has that rustic charm appeal that the whole of Samui boasted years ago.
