From the owners of Lillibets Cottage Mango is situated on the elevated part of Castara, just a short walk from heavenly bay and other secluded beaches such as Major Bay and Back River Bay. From the property panoramic views can be obtained of the sea coast and mountains. Views of bamboo and mango trees also surrounds the property and provides the perfect scenery for nature lovers. Mr. and Miss Taylor, your host, will be happy to give you a free tour of their Clay Oven where Baking is done every Thursday and Saturday.
Castara THE CLAY OVEN- a clay oven created by the local people to demonstrate and keep the old traditions of village. This is a working oven looked after by some lovely local ladies. One Wednesday's Thursdays and Saturdays you can see them in action by 1030 am and buy freshly made bread and pastries. You can go and place your orders in early. THE WATERFALL- set within the rain forest and only a short walk following the river. You can ask a local guide to show you the way, then relax and enjoy a bathe in the cooling waters. BOAT TRIPS- can be arranged with experienced and qualified local guys or ALIBABA TOURS. SNORKELLING- on the beach or any of the many other beaches around the island is a great activity SCUBA DIVING- opportunities are available in CASTARA, STORE BAY AND SPEYSIDE. RAINFOREST TRIPS- and much more are also available. BARBEQUES every Friday nights at Shirmas Bar and Hazel Grill House Saturday nights at Chingo Coffee Shop HAPPENINGS- a variety of events at Casscreole and DLime Bar. Festival events on public holidays where there are events held on the Big Beach. You will also have the opportunity to taste the local dishes
