Cozy cottage on 28 acres of mostly former farm land. 500+ feet of lake frontage. Some woods, some land clearings. To the cliffs of Lake Erie from the house is about .4 mile walk on the property. Follow the trail behind the house past the empty parked airstream travel trailer and turn left down toward the water near the scrap metal pile. (path to the cliffs is usually drive-able July through February) At the water's edge you will find 40-50' cliffs, please be extremely cautious. Guests must stay 10-15 feet away from the edge at all times. Guests are permitted to use the fire-pit/grill at the cliffs as long as fire safety is practiced at all times. In addition, for your safety, guests must never stand between the fire-pit and the water's edge. If you walk west at the water's edge and reach a gas well, you've traveled to far into the woods and need to turn around. The properly line is about 50 feet from the gas well. If you walk east along the water's edge the property line is about 50 feet from the tiny beach below. Please respect the property borders throughout your stay. Sunsets take place on the west side of the property near the entrance to the woods. At this time there is no access to the lake, only great views, nature, and wildlife. (bald eagle's nest exists east side of the cliffs, there's a good chance you will see the family of eagles during your stay) . Feel free to bring a tent and camp down by the cliffs. It's a great chance to unplug and unwind at your own private camp ground. Fall asleep to the sound of the waves crashing after watching an amazing sunset over the water. Wake up with the sunrise over the eastern bluff! Best of all, you can still shower, with the house a mere .4 mi. down the path. Please note: Nestle Purina has a manufacturing plant in Dunkirk and you may from time to time smell them making their dog food when at the house (however, not when at the cliffs of Lake Erie).
