In the winter months the home places you near some of the best slopes in the area with both Alpine Meadows Ski Resort and Tahoe Ski Resort a 20-minute drive away, Tahoe Nordic Cross Country Center 15 minutes away, and Homewood Ski Resort just 6 minutes away. If you are looking for some great XC skiing or snowshoeing, you are just minutes away from the popular trails at Paige Meadows. During the summer months, head to Commons Beach, a popular four-acre beach and park less than 10 minutes away. Here you can rent any type of watercraft imaginable, and enjoy great swimming, and BBQ areas. Or, make a quick 5-minute drive up the road to the famous Sunnyside Restaurant and Marina, where you can find great food and watercraft rentals. You are also nearby the Lake Tahoe Bike Path, or if some high alpine hiking is what you are into, Paige Meadows is only an 8-minute drive up the hill where you will find beautiful meadows lined with a vast network of trails that connect you to the Pacific Crest Trail and the Tahoe Rim Trail. For those in your group looking for a little less outdoor time, Tahoe City is less than a 10-minute drive where you will find many cute boutique shops, a wide variety of bars and restaurants, farmers markets, and live music.
