We are located in the heart of Essex County, NY, at the entrance of the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks. It is a premier location for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, offering quick access to all-season activities including hiking and biking trails, backcountry skiing and snowshoeing, swimming and boating spots, and even a few small beaches. Those looking to stay close to home can always check out our local restaurants and pubs! While our property is a 15-minute walk into the heart of town, you'd be remiss not venture out and explore all that the High Peaks region has to offer. We are a 10-minute drive to Westport on Lake Champlain, 20 minutes to Essex and the Vermont Ferry. A 20 minute drive will get you into Keene and Keene Valley, and to a bunch of trailheads along the way. In 30 minutes you can find yourself in Lake Placid and Whiteface for summer and winter sports, shopping, and a bustling nightlife. All of our routes are scenic, making getting there half of the fun.

The fine print

Must-know information for guests at this property

1. This is a private guest suite with its own private entrance. No spaces are shared, but the space is attached to our main house where we stay.

2. There is no shower, only a bathtub - with ample bath salts, bubble bath, candles, and toiletries provided.

3. If arriving between November and March - a vehicle with AWD or 4-wheel drive is required.

4. There is no air-conditioning, however the space remains about 10 degrees cooler during the summer months due to it's location.

5. Laundry is available at the main house once per week for those staying 7 nights or longer.

6. Guests are not permitted to receive mail or packages at this address, regardless of length of stay.

Please inform Adirondack Mountain View Retreat of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.

Payment before arrival by bank transfer is required. The property will contact you after you book to provide instructions.
