Company info

Char was raised on Maui just a few miles up the beach from Aloha AKU and went to grade school and to St. Anthony’s High School on Maui. Her family also lives here on the island so she and they have seen a lot of changes on Maui over the years. After high school Char left for College at Santa Clara University and majored in TV Production and French. After College she moved the LA and began a carrier in the Entertainment Industry doing everything from modeling to acting and from Producing, Directing and Writing to finally running Production and Entertainment companies. Gary has also had a good life having lived in many parts of the country having followed a very successful career in High Tech. He has been a key contributor to Ethernet, Computer analyzed EKG systems, help found a start up Telecommunications product company in Silicon Valley, and ran a successful high tech company in LA. He has always seen himself living on an island and meeting Char 20 years ago was just the ticket to get him to Maui. So a few years ago this LA couple decided that the time had come to leave the Merry-go-round of their respective businesses and buy a place on Maui and “come home”.

We want to share a piece of Paradise, what we call the ‘Aloha Kai Suite’ with you. This is part of our Aloha Aku Rentals family where the South Maui weather is dependably sunny and warm year long. Tradewinds caress you as you relax on the shore of a forever ocean. In the SUMMER these same Tradewinds are FANTASTIC for WINDSURFING. You can launch directly from our beach! Excellent sunsets most nights from our west facing beach. Waiohuli Beach Hale is on the shore of the blue pacific ocean with views of the West Maui Mountains and the nearby islands of Lanai, Ka’aholawe and the world renowned snorkeling and dive island called Molokini.

Neighborhood info

You can walk to almost every imaginable restaurant with numerous styles of cuisine in all price ranges and dozens of other conveniences: supermarket, post office, physicians services, drug store, liquor stores, banks, video and DVD rentals and activity booking facilities. There is public tennis, basketball, golf, local craft fair, fruit stands, gift shopping and aquatic community center. Various Wailea Resorts offer authentic luaus and the famous ‘Shops of Wailea’ Center is only 10 minutes away by car. There are world class snorkeling spots also only 10 minutes away. Touring Maui via day trips from our central location is the most convenient on island.
