Park City, a mere ½ hour drive from Salt Lake City, is an historic old mining town transformed into a world class ski and winter sports destination. Snuggled into a high valley in the craggy Wasatch Range mountains, this charming town is lined with miners’ cabins and buildings built during the silver mining boom that started in the 1860’s. This area has become one of the finest ski resorts in the world. In 2002 Park City hosted the Winter Olympic Games. It is now home to the Utah Olympic Park, one of only 4 sliding tracks in North America, with ski jumps, and the Winter Olympics Museum. It is the official training facility for the US Olympic Ski Team so you know the snow conditions are great. The ski resorts include Park City Mountain, Deer Valley Resort, Canyons Village at Park City and the soon to open Mayflower Resort.
