Welcome to Camden at Monticello — a classic retreat set in the heart of Salisbury's Camden historic district along a primary residential corridor. This inviting home blends walkable neighborhood charm and nostalgic local character. The location is especially convenient for visitors to Salisbury University, whose campus is four blocks further south on Camden Avenue. Ideal for families and guests seeking a calm, comfortable Salisbury home base, enjoy easy access to Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
Favorite food in Salisbury: 1. Playa Bowls – Jersey shore chain with 40+ types of acai bowls. 2. Rise Up Coffee – Delmarva peninsula local coffee chain with excellent coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and burritos. 3. Island Creamery – Best ice cream on Delmarva peninsula. 4. Bagel Bakery Café – Good bagels nearby. 5. Acme – closest large grocery store. 6. Walmart (south one is closer) – also has a grocery store. 7. Fuji Ramen House – Delicious noodles nearby. 8. Diez de Mayo – Latino grocery with an excellent authentic Mexican taco joint inside. They also sell tamales and tortillas out of large coolers in the check-out line. Good butcher inside. 9. Evolution Craft Brewing – Local large brewery with food, lots of outdoor seating, and bands on weekend evenings. 10. Paleteria Veracruzana – Mexican popsicle shop nearby. Husband and wife make all their own recipes in a traditional way but with modern flavors. Favorite things to do in Salisbury: 1. Walk around the Salisbury University campus. 2. Main Library – Wicomico public library Paul Sarbanes branch downtown. Despite not being a pretty building this is an excellent library. 3. The new square downtown with fountain – across the street from the library. 4. Kaiju records – local record shop inside an old department store on main street downtown. 5. How Sweet It Is – Plant nursery with an astounding selection and a small fresh produce market inside. 6. Goodwill – Better finds than any thrift store in Baltimore. 7. Pemberton Historic Park – Good hiking with some historic structures and a nice nature center with reptiles and amphibians. 8. Poplar Hill Mansion – Historic landmark open for visits on certain days. 9. Salisbury Zoo – FREE local zoo in a shaded setting in the City Park. I love this zoo. 10. Foster Tract Public Rec Area – Trailhead on Snow Hill Road for the new Algonquin Cross Country Trail
