The 5.2-mile river is crossed by the Niantic River Bridge, which carries Amtrak's Northeast Corridor and connects the towns of East Lyme/Niantic and Waterford. With fantastic fishing and kayaking opportunities, the river's mouth opens to the Long Island Sound, where you'll find tranquil waves and saltwater beaches within 1-2 miles.
