Location was excellent. Breakfast frittatas were very good. Breakfast “goodies” could have been better. Seems like they were store bought.

When Newburyport was the nations fourth largest city, tall clipper ships graced the harbor. Great wealth accumlated by the Yankee maritime traders in evidence by the stately homes of the Federal period. This home, built in 1803 by shipbuilder Thomas March Clark, is an elegant example of a three story Federal "sqaure house." The Clark Currier Inn retains much of the original slendor; each room is appointed with beautiful antiques. Lovely details include window seats, decorative dentil moldings, indian shutters, and wide pumpkin-pine flooring. Each morning, our guests start their day off with an expanded continental breakfast with fresh breads, pastries, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts, coffee, tea and juices. In the evenings guests can relax and get to know one another in the parlor, library or inviting garden gazebo.
Just a few blocks downtown makes us a convenient location to all of Newburyport's finest boutique shops and restaurants. Nearby is Plum Island and the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. With nine miles of ocean beach, sandy dunes and salt marsh estuaries; it is home to many birds and animals. Maudslay State Park, with 450 acres of rolling meadows, towering pine forests, walking trails, spectacular rhododendron and mountain laurel is beautiful. The Rail Trail offers three miles of walking through the city and along the waterfront. Newburyport is convenient for a day trip to many New England attractions. South are the historic ports of Gloucester, Marblehead, Salem and Boston. The coastal city of Portsmouth, New Hampshire's White Mountains and Maine's scenic rocky coast are to the north.
