A pleasant space in a pleasant neighborhood in a beautiful part of the country! One mile from the village of Woodstock with its wonderful restaurants and shops, delightful galleries, and exciting music venues. A 15 minute walk from the Bearsville Theater, and a short drive from Levon Helms' Midnight Ramble! There are several really nice walks and hikes within a few minutes drive and dozens of great hiking trails within an hours drive. Belleayre Mountain and Hunter ski areas are both about 40 minutes drive and Windham a few minutes further. In short - you will not be bored around here!

I am a semi-retired woodworker who spent many years restoring historic water and wind powered mills and working on (mostly large) wooden boats. Before that I was a furniture maker. I hike a lot and take tons of photographs. I sail when I can (both on the water and on the ice). I've lived in this area for most of my life. I can help you find things to do and places to go while you're here. I know many of the restaurants and can help you choose. I can talk to you about the music venues and the theater. I can help you find trails that are within your comfort zone or that have the best views. I can talk (at boring length if you'd like) about the history of the area and the places and events that formed it. I'm not always available, but if I am I'd be happy to take you on my favorite local walks, Like that!

The space is in a really nice neighborhood. It's quiet and peaceful here (there are no through streets), and the neighbors are, to quote the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, "mostly harmless". Actually they're very nice. You are likely to find them walking their dogs or standing in the middle of road chatting.
