The Gray Ghost Inn features a private bathroom with a hairdryer in every guest room. Select suites include additional amenities like a TV, refrigerator, and living area. Guests at the West Dover Gray Ghost Inn can relax by the fireplace in the lounge area, or play a variety of games, including billiards and table tennis. Ski storage is also available. A cook-to-order breakfast is served every morning in the dining room. The Mount Snow Golf Course is 5 minutes’ drive from the inn. Hiking trails during warm weather months are within 1 mile.

We are a family owned and operated bed and breakfast located on picturesque Route 100 in Southern Vermont. When you call you will reach Cary and Eamon and we are happy to assist in booking your stay. We are less than a mile from the slopes of Mount Snow/Carinthia and fewer than 20 minutes to Stratton Mountain Resort. We offer a full Vermont breakfast cooked to order. During the summer months we offer an outdoor pool to cool off and a hot tub for the winter months to relax after a day on the slopes. For the kid in all of us we have a large game room with pool, foosball and air hockey. On the main floor we offer a lounge area with a large wood burning stove. We are a registered stop on the free, local Moover Bus that can take you around town and in the winter directly to the Mount Snow chairlifts to avoid those pesky parking fees. We are the perfect location for families, a reunion or group gathering. We can tailor any event you might want to have to here at the Inn or have the opportunity to dine at any of the fine restaurants within walking distance of the Inn. Like so many remaining objects of “Americana” the Gray Ghost Inn has a fascinating story including models and gangsters, a prison break and an FBI chase. In the mid 1950’s, the ski-boom came blazing through Vermont. Among the most exciting new developments in recreational sports was the Mount Snow ski area. Mount Snow would become one of the most accessible, fun, and enterprising ski areas of this century. The influx of skiing visitors to Vermont raised the demand for local lodging. John Yunos, master plumber and tax assessor for the town of Dover, was one of the first to respond to this need. He began construction of a simple two story lodge with a cavernous basement. The inn, then called Snow and Sun Lodge, was opened only a year after Mount Snow resort had opened. The twenty room lodge was, according to the author Haden-Guest, “…unpretty, and being built of cinderblocks with an asphalt roof.”
