Welcome to your retreat in the heart of the Knik River Valley. We’ve designed our guest apartment to offer comfort, privacy, and stunning mountain views—while only 30 minutes from town. The suite has a private entrance, but is attached to our home. Inside, you’ll find the main room with a queen bed, kitchenette, dining table, love-seat, and TV. The bathroom connects directly to the main room and includes a shower (no tub) and essential amenities. A twin bed is available upon request. Due to fire code requirements, it must be set up in the main living area for use. If you’d like the second bed prepared, please let us know at the time of booking so we can have it ready for you. You’ll enjoy exclusive access to two private decks on the east and west ends of the suite, both offering expansive views of the Knik Valley and surrounding mountains. The suite connects to our home via a staircase and a bookshelf-style door that locks from both sides, ensuring privacy for everyone. The suite and upper decks are entirely for guest use. The hot tub is available year-round and is reserved for guests. The water is drained and refilled as needed, and chemical levels and cleanliness are carefully checked before each stay. For safety and maintenance reasons, we ask that no food or alcohol be consumed in the hot tub. Guests are welcome to enjoy the yard and swing, which are shared outdoor spaces. We have two friendly dogs on the property. They may bark briefly when greeting new arrivals, but they are very sociable. They spend much of the day outside, and while encounters are likely, we do our best to accommodate guests who prefer minimal interaction with the dogs. We want you to have the privacy and space you need to fully relax and enjoy the surroundings. At the same time, we’re happy to interact as much—or as little—as you prefer. We are always available by message if you need anything.

We want you to have the privacy as space that you desire to enjoy your stay and the surroundings, however if you prefer more interactions with your host, we will follow your lead! If guests have questions, host will be available via message, and are oftentimes on premises to help if needs arise.

Our neighborhood is tucked into the scenic Knik River Valley, about nine miles (as the crow flies) from the Knik Glacier. Surrounded by mountains, forest, and expansive State of Alaska and BLM land, the area feels wonderfully remote while still being conveniently located—just 30 minutes from Palmer and 15 minutes from the Butte, where you’ll find gas and a small store stocked with essentials. Adventure is right outside your door. Alaska Knik Glacier Tours, located just one mile away (operating May–September), offers unforgettable excursions featuring stunning scenery and wildlife, with transport by monster truck and jet boat for a true Alaskan-style safari experience. Within a 15-minute drive, you can visit the Alaska Reindeer Farm, book a flightseeing tour with Outbound Heli, or explore the Butte and Pioneer Peak hiking trails. If you’re up for a scenic drive, Hatcher Pass—about an hour away—is a local gem with trails for all ability levels. From gentle paths winding past streams and beaver ponds to steep climbs and rugged boulder fields, the area offers incredible views of the Talkeetna Mountains. Mountain biking is also popular in Palmer; rentals are available at Backcountry Bike and Ski, including fat tire bikes and cross-country skis in the winter so you can explore year-round. Prefer a slower pace? Downtown Palmer offers charming shops and boutiques perfect for browsing with a coffee or tea from one of the local cafés. You’ll also find several breweries and restaurants, all with a warm, welcoming small-town feel.
