Welcome to Poplar Lake and LakePlace Bed & Breakfast. Our cozy and thoughtfully curated rooms are individually designed for our guest’s enjoyment and relaxation. A fresh breakfast is served each morning with homemade baked goods and locally sourced ingredients. LakePlace is a great spot for family/friend reunions, wedding and event weekends, or just a place to unwind, relax, and reset. In the warm seasons, guests have use of kayaks, canoe, paddleboards, and bikes. Snowshoes are available in the winter.

We are Jennifer and Mark Arriola and we welcome you to LakePlace Bed & Breakfast. Like many others, 2020 gave us time to reflect and consider what to do once the world returned to “normal.” The answer was to open a bed and breakfast on a lake and for Mark to become a skilled home baker. To own a lake home is a great gift, and we are using this gift to provide a haven from life and its many stressors. We want to provide for guests the experience of starry nights, a relaxing paddle, restorative time just watching the water, a home base for exploring the area, a delicious breakfast, and a place to unwind and spend a weekend at the lake. We will be your hosts and we hope, your friends. Come to us for information on the St. Croix River Valley, suggestions for a day trip, or what time we should lay the wood for the firepit.

LakePlace is situated on the north shore of Poplar Lake in Polk County Wisconsin. Poplar Lake is a 117 acre lake with great fishing including Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. Watch the sun sparkle on the lake and keep an eye out for the Poplar Lake eagles from one of many outdoor seating areas … a two-seater swing, hammocks, a lake deck with Adirondack chairs, dock, and deck with table and casual seating. The upper St. Croix River Valley is only one hour from the Twin Cities, but you will want more than a day trip to explore the area. Take in a show at the St. Croix Festival Theater or wander the giant works at Franconia Sculpture Garden; enjoy free summer outdoor concerts in several towns; take a tour on a train or a river boat; hike, bike, snowshoe or ski dozens of trails; visit Trollhaugen for winter skiing and snowboarding and summers at their adventure park; shop at our many vintage stores and sip at our many wineries and breweries; and have an extra special stay when you are a guest at one of the numerous wedding venues within 15 miles of LakePlace.
