Situated about a two-hour drive from Washington, D.C., this property offers an easy escape for city dwellers seeking a peaceful mountain retreat. Nestled along a quiet mountain road, it’s ideal for guests looking to unplug and enjoy the natural beauty of West Virginia. Please note: the access road is a steep dirt mountain road. During winter conditions, four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is required, as the road can remain slippery even after being cleared. We welcome guests from near and far—whether you’re passing through or planning a relaxing stay in the mountains.
Lost River has been our weekend home since 2014, offering the peace, adventure, and rewarding work that define mountain living. Short-term hosting wasn’t part of the original plan, but one project naturally led to the next. Today, we enjoy hosting guests who value nature and are looking to make meaningful memories together.
