This home is where our family story began. My wife, Larissa, and I were married in 2012 and rented this mountain cottage for eight wonderful years before we were finally able to purchase it in 2020. It’s where we built our early life together and raised our three children until we eventually needed a little more space. When the time came to move, we were incredibly grateful to be able to keep this special place in our family. Today, we’re excited to share a piece of our history—and the rich history of Lookout Mountain—with guests from across the country and around the world. We hope you feel the warmth, character, and sense of home that have made this cottage so meaningful to us.

Hello! I’m Derek. I work in the industrial supply business and am grateful for the opportunity to be a host. Faith and family are at the center of my life, and I’ve been married since 2012. My wife and I have three children—one son and two daughters—who keep life full and meaningful.
