Perched above downtown Galena, Miss Murphy’s Bed and Breakfast blends vintage charm with modern comfort. Housed in a pre–Civil War mansion once home to Dr. Edward Kittoe, a friend of Ulysses S. Grant, it welcomes guests into a world where history and hospitality meet. Under new management as of September 2025, each room has been thoughtfully refreshed—combining historic character with plush bedding, blackout shades, and delightful touches that make every stay special. Mornings begin with a full, from-scratch breakfast featuring seasonal ingredients and house-made specialties inspired by Midwestern traditions and global flavors. Guests can linger in the gardens, relax in the parlors, or curl up in cozy corners. With sweeping views of the river valley and easy access to Galena’s shops, restaurants, and trails, Miss Murphy’s invites you to slow down, enjoy every moment, and feel at home.
