Decorated with a coastal feel in mind, there is plenty of natural light, perfect for relaxing on the comfortable couch with a book or at the kitchen table while you dine with family. The kitchen is updated with all of the appliances that you'll need for preparing your meals for the day, all while only being a few steps from the living area. Step outside on the covered deck and take in the beautiful water views of the canal any time of the day. When it s time to turn in for the day, you'll find 3 spacious bedrooms, perfect for relaxing after a busy day on the water. Anchor s Away is part of the private, Pirate s Cove Community, located at the foot of the Washington Baum bridge. The community is great for families and boaters-alike as it sits right on the sound. Boat dock access is offered with the home, so be sure to bring your boat along for the trip! Community Amenities: Anchor's Away guests have access to the Pirates Cove Community amenities including: Community Pool and Hot Tub (In-season only: Early May - Early October) Boat Ramp Volleyball Court Picnic Area with BBQ Playground Fitness Center Tennis Courts Rec Center No Smoking/Vaping. The quaint and quiet town of Manteo was incorporated in 1899 and named for Chief Manteo of the Croatan Native American Tribe. Manteo is known for it's beautiful Downtown waterfront area filled with local boutiques, restaurants, & plenty of history to explore and learn. Take a walk out to the Roanoke Marshes Light replica to see how the fishermen of past times navigated the waters by this screwpile lighthouse. Stroll over the bridge to Roanoke Island Festival Park and explore the museum and reenactment areas of the Native Americans and English Settlers that resided on the island. Grab a bite to eat at one of the many delicious and locally owned restaurants. However you choose to spend your day in Manteo, it is bound to be fun & informational.
