This is my home (bed and breakfast) with 3 rooms rented separately or all together. Therefore, occupants share kitchen, living room, and patio areas. The 3 rooms are comfy queen (small-shared bath), roomy queen (medium-shared bath), and master room queen with private bath. The Wildernest is quiet and relaxing and we have almost nightly starry skies! Make yourselves at home!
Hello, I'm David! I am from New England and have lived in Flagstaff since 1997. I am an environmental consultant and I have been hosting in my home since June 2012. Many guests from all over the world have stayed here. It's a great opportunity to meet new people and cultures. Guests really enjoy shared experiences and some even trade contacts and stay in touch. Not everyone chooses to socialize and prefer the privacy of their own rooms.
The Wildernest, altitude 7000 feet MSL, is set within a dormant volcanic field that last erupted 1100 years ago. The San Francisco Peaks and hiking are within 1/4-mile. The neighborhood is a country housing development, safe and quiet. The Horseman Lodge restaurant is 3 miles away and offers a casual lodge atmosphere and delicious western dishes. Convenience stores/gas stations are nearby and Safeway grocery store and mall are about 5 miles away. The Sunset Crater including Wupatki National Monument are just up the road. Sedona is beautiful town about 1 hour away; Bearizona is 45 minutes west; the Grand Canyon is a 1.5 hour scenic drive north; and Snowbowl ski area is a 45-minute to 1-hour drive as is the Lava Caves which extend a mile underground. So, plans to visit will not disappoint!
