Prickly Pear is a real Texas cabin — the kind that looks right at home under the live oaks and feels even better once you're inside. Come through the front door, and you're straight into an open-plan kitchen and family room that was built for gathering. Fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar and island, Mexican leather chairs, a pullout sofa, smart TV, and — because why not — a vintage arcade machine in the hallway with Pac-Man and Space Invaders. The kids will claim it immediately. So will the adults after a couple of cold ones. Speaking of kids, the bunk room has its own smart TV — a proper escape hatch when they need a break from the grown-ups. There's a second bedroom with an oversized queen bed and plenty of closet space. Tucked away upstairs, the master suite is something else entirely. King bed, high ceilings, ensuite bathroom, and a newly refinished claw-foot tub positioned for a private view out into the trees. That tub has ended many a weekend argument about whether to check out or stay another night.

We've got 5 acres of old-growth live oaks in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, and we're glad you found us. This isn't a resort — it's a genuine piece of Texas land, wooded, wild, and alive. You're out here with nature, and we think that's the whole point. Everybody shares the good stuff: cowboy pool, fire pit, hammocks, tree swings, covered outdoor bar with TV, grill pergola, and enough lawn games to keep things lively. Most guests tell us they planned to do a lot more than they actually did. We take that as a compliment. When you do venture out, the Guadalupe and Comal Rivers are minutes away, Whitewater Amphitheater is practically next door, and Gruene Hall, Wimberley, New Braunfels, and Texas wine country are all an easy drive. Austin and San Antonio are both under an hour.
