Hello, My name is Tammy Spencer. I was raised in Cortez, CO and still live in the area with my husband, Mike. Building this vacation rental has been a dream of mine for many years. I took my ranching lifestyle and the old west feel that I have loved for so many years, and turned it into a beautiful home for all to enjoy while they visit my hometown.

Rustic Hideaway is away from the hustle of town, but yet close enough you can be in downtown Cortez in just a few minutes by car. Tammy (your host) is always available if something is not to your satisfaction. We strive to make our guests stay remarkable. The Rustic Hideaway was designed to give you the modern old west feel. When I say modern I mean you get the old west/rustic decor with the luxury of free wifi, TV with a Roku ( Disney, Hulu, ESPN+, you can log into other apps such as Netflix, Vudu, etc. with your own account if you choose), DVD player, air conditioning, electric heat, and even a flushing toilet (we thought our guests would prefer this over the old west outhouse). Have a party, reunion, or any other event? Rustic Hideaway is the perfect place for you. Located on 5 acres and away from the main road, you get the privacy and space you need for almost any event. Cortez is a wonderful location for your vacation, whether this be your final destination or just passing through. I will list some of our favorite attractions below that we recommend you don't miss while visiting. To learn and see the history of the area, Mesa Verde National Park is a must. Have you ever been standing in 4 states at one time? If not, don't miss stopping by Four Corners National Monument. Do you enjoy fishing, swimming, or just relaxing near water? McPhee Reservoir and the Dolores River are a short distance from the house. If you enjoy beautiful scenery and the chance to catch a look at a bear, elk, deer, and much more, you wont want to miss the drive or hike in the San Juan National Forest. If you have a bike and want to take a ride, Phil's World is a short distance where you can ride trails all day! These are just a few of our favorite attractions in the area.
