The property is right in the heart of town and very unique. I had a no contact check-in, which went very well. I stay in the upstairs suite with a shared bathroom, but I was the only guest that night. The rooms have so much character. The town was...

Historical building, not only pay for a stay, but also pay for an entrance to a museum, and for opening a history book. Need to take time to go through everything at the first floor. The details the owner puts the effort are amazing, such as tea...

It’s Cozy and friendly. You are able to sit at a table in the commons area and eat and that’s relaxing after a long day. Having a bathroom outside of room is normal - just like home. Meeting other quests from different countries with in the...

It was really cool to stay in an original roadhouse. I really liked the history reflected in the decor. Would love to return someday.

In the old days the Talkeetna Roadhouse served the community by hauling out goods via horse and carriage to miners and trappers in the nearby hills. Now modern day adventurers, local residents and visitors alike, come to us for huge home-cooked breakfasts, lively conversation, strong coffee, gigantic cinnamon rolls, hand rolled bagels, Roadhouse Breakfast: Fresh Bread, eggs, bacon, toast, 1902 Sourdough Hotcakes hearty soups, fresh breads, pies, cakes, cookies and a healthy dose of frontier hospitality. Our 1902 Sourdough Hotcakes are bigger than the plates on which we serve them and the Roadhouse Standard (scrambled eggs, home fries, extra thick peppered bacon, honey whole wheat toast, juice and bottomless coffee/tea) is all you need for a full day of Talkeetna adventure. If you do get hungry later there's always Granny's Chocolate Potato Cake, homemade apple pie, rhubarb pie, BluBarb (yes, blueberry and rhubarb) pie, gooey cream cheese brownies, tender gingersnaps... well, we don't want to make you too hungry just yet! The slower pace of winter enables us to accommodate groups for special private meals, either breakfasts, lunches or suppers.
Flightseeing: Fly over the lush green wetlands of the northern Boreal forest and transition into the ice age world of Mt. McKinley & the Alaska Range. Ziplining: You will be traversing from one platform to the next via nine zip rides, three suspension bridges, a spiral staircase and a rappel. Jet Boat Adventure: As you travel into the remote Alaskan wilderness along the river you will have ever present opportunities to view nesting bald eagles, beaver activity and salmon and you just might see moose, black bear and grizzly bear roaming the shore. Denali Raft & Kayak: Your trip begins on Byers Lake, the largest lake in Denali State Park where you will glide through its tranquil waters on single or tandem Sit-On-Top kayaks. Flagstop Rail ‘n Raft Tour: You will wave a flag and the train will stop to let you and your guide off. You will then hike down to the area where the rafts will be readied for you. Along the float trip you’ll stop on one of the islands and receive your complimentary lunch before continuing on your wilderness soft adventure floating on the mighty Susitna River for 12 miles of river back to the town of Talkeetna. Let us book an exciting adventure for you!
