Sweetgrass is a gated community located in Blowing Rock, N.C., only six miles from downtown Main Street with its upscale shops and restaurants. It is a 100 acre oasis with a lake, a rushing stream, and walking trails throughout. The community is dedicated to preserving the open space and natural environment, so it is perfect for nature lovers seeking a retreat or for those who love being immersed in nature with the comforts of home nearby. It is also close to Appalachian Ski Mountain for winter family fun. You can search for the community name and location to find some helpful information about the community. Note that the lake, stream, and trails are in the community itself, not directly on home lot. Timberwalk Cottage is an excellent choice for traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway. The house is a hop skip and a jump from a parkway entrance, located just north of the Linn Cove Viaduct and visitor center. Visitors in the fall especially appreciate the parkway as it offers an excellent opportunity to see the fall colors. Blowing Rock is at an elevation above 3500 feet and often experiences variable weather, even in the summer. I rented a mini-van the last trip there, in the summer, and I was definitely the only person driving one. Most people prefer AWD vehicles or SUVs to navigate the windy roads, especially in the colder months. But during the summer, a regular vehicle worked fine for me. Timberwalk Cottage has an asphalt driveway in front of the property that can fit two cars side-by-side if you park carefully. More can fit if you are willing to park tandem.
