Coda is a beautiful seaside dwelling which has been a home away from home for so many people. With its wooden floors and laid-back layout, it is the kind of place where you can easily forget the mad rush you have left behind to kick your flip flops off and let time slow down. Being just 500 m away from the beach it is easy to park your car when you arrive and start the engine when you leave.
Cathy and I have had the privilege of hosting folk from all around the world. We have lived in Umkomaas since 2011 and have fallen in love with this incredible town which holds so much potential and offers so much. We love to go for walks on the beach, enjoy sunrises and swim in the warm waters off our coast where I also get to spearfish and scuba dive. We love this adventure that we get to call "life".
Umkomaas is a quiet little town which is famous for its fishing, scuba diving (Aliwal Shoal is on our doorstep) as well as a beautiful golf course. All the shops, dive centers and courses are walking distance from Coda, making it easy to go anywhere by foot. Umkomaas boasts some really nice coffee shops and restaurants or if you'd prefer, just call the local Spar who will deliver your Groceries for you. We are an easy 40 minute drive from Durban which means we are close enough to spend a day there but far enough to not get caught up in the busyness of the city. There are numerous hikes around and stunning bicycle trails for the more energetic.
