Copperleigh Trout Cottages is located on a working sheep, goat and cattle farm in the upper Dargle on Route 3 of the popular Midlands Meander of KZN. Our 10ha Mavela Dam is stocked annually with trout and is considered one of the premier dams to fish at in the Midlands. Guests can enjoy complimentary fly fishing on a catch and release basis. There are also Bass which may be caught and kept. We have two very comfortably appointed, fully equipped self-catering units on offer. The romantic Bungalow or log "Cabin" is right on the waters edge and can comfortably accommodate a couple. There is an open plan lounge and kitchen. It has one bedroom with a queen size bed, oil heater, en-suite bathroom featuring a heated towel rail and a shower - no bath. The outside braai/grill area overlooks the dam and you have the most amazing view & sunsets! The larger double story House or "Lodge" unit can accommodate up to 9 guests in 3 bedrooms, and features 2 bathrooms with showers - no baths. Large indoor fireplace for the chilly Midlands nights. Outdoor Wood Fired Hot Tub is a hit! Google TV: Amazon Prime & Netflix apps are included. No DSTV. Complimentary WiFi, 3 seater kayak and daily housekeeping is provided for each unit (Sunday & Public Holiday Housekeeping will incur an additional fee). Guests have use of the stunning hiking trails on the farm, which overlook the dam and the nearby iNhlosane Mountain. See and interact with the farm animals including: Red Brangus cattle on the farm, Dohne Merino Sheep, Indigenous Veld Goats as well as the smaller animals such as chickens, guinea pigs and ducks! A standby generator provides electricity during emergencies when the power is out for an extended time. There are rechargeable lamps in the Lodge. Only the Cabin overhead lights are on a solar battery system. **Pet Policy: Pets welcome. Must be pre-arranged. Units aren't completely fenced. A pet levy per night applies, max 3 small dogs in Cabin; Max 6 small-med dogs in Lodge.

A qualified IT technician and Photographer, I manage the family farm which we have owned since 2012. We opened our first cottage for guests to stay at in July 2017. Our small staff compliment ensures that we are always available to answer any questions as our guests well being is extremely important to us.
