Francis has a love for old buildings and has been decoratively transforming numerous old buildings until she bought the old parsonage in Lydenburg and converted it into a colonial style bed and breakfast accommodation. Each room is differently decorated in period style in her stylish eclectic taste. She is a hands on manager that lives on the property and thus always available to her guests. Francis also conceptualize themed events and personalized weddings which are then hosted at De Ark Guest House.

Celebrating more than 150 years of existence, De Ark House is one of Lydenburg's oldest and most prominent buildings. De Ark Guest House features magnificent guest rooms in the grandest of fashion, a Victorian tea garden secluded by rose thickets and a breakfast / dining room befitting of royalty. The De Ark House dates back to 1857, which makes it one of the oldest remaining buildings in Lydenburg. In 1893 it was converted into a double-storey building, as it was expected of the parson’s wife to accommodate church men who stayed far in the district.
