Fouriesburg is well known for the old sandstone buildings, and for the part it played during the Boer War. It is a very small town, and easy to walk through town, visiting the Windmill pub, Country Inn Hotel, Di Plaasstoep Restaurant, and other shops with nice goodies. Don't miss to drive past the church, and you might find someone to give access to view the spectacular inside. The watertunnels is one of many attractions to Fouriesburg, and defenitely someting to add to your bucketlist. There are lovely hiking trails near town, and did you know that the road between Fouriesburg and Clarens is known as one of the most photographed routes in South Africa. Other activities include horse riding, wine tasting and a visit to the nearby cherry farms.
