Inspired by the traditional houses of Graaf Reinett, it is the loving handiwork of journalist Sam Rogers and author Jacques Pauw, former owners of the iconic Red Tin Roof in the village. The house is in the most sought-after part of the village and is beautifully furnished with, among others, art deco pieces and adorned with local art and artifacts that Sam and Jacques have collected around the world. The house and its adjacent cottage offer three en-suite bedrooms, each air-conditioned and offering sumptuous and comfy beds. The cottage has its own braai area, kitchenette and living area. In the tradition of the Great Karoo, the house is framed by a 30-meter-long veranda with a braai area, a daybed, a dining table for eight and unspoilt views of the surrounding areas. There is another stoep on the other side of the house that leads to the splash pool. The house is a chef’s dream with the kitchen sporting the celebrated Rosieres Paul Bocuse cooker/stove, while guests are welcome to dine on our vintage Hugenot Royal fine China dinner set.
