Firefly Farm is a bit of paradise over looking the Greater St Lucia Lake, where the pelicans and flamingos fly over regularly. We offer a cozy self catering and comfortable cottage, with en suite bedroom, lounge, open plan kitchen and a deck that has spectacular views. Situated on a small indigenous bush farm, in traditional Zululand. We have Free Range Chickens, ducks, dogs and a cat that roaming freely. That are all likely to visit.The stars are spectacular, and you stand a good chance of hearing the drums of Africa and wild life while soaking up the warmth from your campfire. Please remember mosquito repellent, especially in the hot summer months.
We are a laid back, bush loving couple, that love the outdoors, peace and tranquil surroundings of the bush. We have free range chickens, ducks, dogs and a cat that roam around the property freely. Which will more than likely come for a friendly visit. We have a little bit of paradise that we would love to share with people that would love a bush experience. Lawrie and Martin with their 2 children strive to be self sustainable on their little farm.
Firefly Farm is in the rural heart of Zululand. Where the kids play in the road and the cattle are herded home every evening. Morning traffic jams are the cattle and goats getting herded out to pasture. It is a peaceful and happy place for you to come and enjoy. Situated in a birding paradise there are self guided walks on the property. There are numerous local activities including, cycling, birding, walking, game drives, tradition cultural tours, Songoma/tradition healer meetings, snorkeling, fishing, diving and guided or self guided game drives in the Big 5. - 8km bar and restaurant - 33km to Sodwana Bay National park (excellent for snorkeling and diving) - 29km to Mkuze Game Reserve - 35km to Hluhluwe town - 20km to False Bay park, excellent self guided walks and birding. - 15km to Nibela Lake Lounge, restaurant, bar, boat cruises, game drives. - 69km to Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game reserve, Big 5 animals. Self drive or guided tour. 106km to St Lucia town for a boat cruise and lunch.
