Gardening is top of the list for relaxation for the owners of Glen Ormond. A recent addition on the property is a formal veggie patch in which we hope to practice organic growing habits and ultimately use the produce in our meal preparation. Our resident 3 dogs, Jax, Jess and Bean are a pure delight, and if you don't mind dogs they will be sure to visit you often. Our kitty SarahDippety, can often be seen mooching around the gardens.

The Midlands Meander in the heart of KwaZulu-Natal, is a collection of arranged routes that offers visitors hospitality in truly beautiful surroundings, fascinating local events, fabulous cuisine, revitalizing outdoor activities and over-the-top adventure sports, historic landmarks, wildlife conservation, and best of all "shop-till-you-drop" unique arts and crafts. An easy one-hour drive from Durban and four and a half hours on the N3 highway from Johannesburg, there is much to explore and do in the Midlands. Discover our local artists and try on some wool lined leather boots or hand crafted leather shoes. Buy a new handbag and show off your purchases at the local brewery while sampling mugs of local beer, shop till you drop and eat to your heart’s content. Midmar Dam is a 35-minute drive away and offers sailing, water-skiing and board sailing, pleasure cruises and game viewing. Golf, fly-fishing, horse riding, a tour of the Battlefields and a treetop tour are all within easy travelling distance from Glen Ormond.
