Griffons Nest is built on a plateau just below the highest point of the Waterberg mountain rage this provides visitors with a magnificent view of the mountain which is home to the largest colony of Cape Griffons Vultures in the world. In the Mid-Morning and afternoon you can see them catching the thermals or circling a recent kill from our resident pride of lions or perhaps our newly settled cheetahs. Griffons Nest is a Traditional Cape Dutch house built by Italian prisoners of war towards the end of WW2. It consists of 4 bedrooms each with a double bed and a single bed (sleeps a total of 12 people) 2 bathrooms , a big kitchen a dining room, a lounge and sitting area that looks out to the hilly incline that gradually leads up to the Mountain that towers over this building and the land surrounding it, there is a fire and braai place outside that give a more open look of the whole mountain, just above is a plateau and salt lick where the antelope frequently come to feed, guests often having the chance to see them 30 meters away there is also a patio looking into the lush forests and plains below the house.
