We offer two suites, both with 2 bedrooms, a lounge and small kitchen. Barbet suite is part of a small guest complex with 3 other rooms. Its bedrooms both have en-suite bathrooms with shower. Fisheagle also has two bedrooms - one double and one twin, as with Barbet - but just one bathroom. However, it is generally larger and has its own small garden and is suitable for pets. It adjoins the main house but is totally separate with its own entrance. At Hawkshead, we have a small community of residents as well as guests. The main house has a large garden with swimming pool which is available to our guests. Around the farm you can find abundant birdlife and go for short walks in the fields and rocky outcrops. We have a resident donkey, a goat and several geese.

I enjoy art, having trained as an art teacher many moons ago. In the past I had a ceramics studio, but now concentrate on oil painting. I love wildlife and birding, and visiting the Kruger National Park. My husband and I are both members of our local Lions Club. I like to meet and chat with our guests and tell them about the beautiful Lowveld.

Conveniently situated on the N4 highway to Joburg and Pretoria, some 15kms from Nelspruit, Hawkshead is less than an hour's drive to the Kruger Park and Panorama Route, and is close to the Sudwala Caves. Other highlights of the area are Kaapsehoop village with its wild horses and nesting blue swallows, plus the beautiful Lowveld Botanical Gardens. Mbombela Stadium is a mere 10 kms down the road towards Nelspruit.
