We have been operating for about 3 years and have just put up two new tents. Our guests love the fact that they can experience something different and be comfortable. It is owner managed and run by Gary & Malissa and their amazing team led by Paul, Dixon and Winnie. Paul is always happy to help out when needed and has an infectious huge smile and guests love him to bits. He is also fantastic with entertaining children. Glamping is a unique experience and makes that special getaway a trip to remember. You are surrounded by bush, beach and nature.

Property info

This is a privately owned little piece of paradise on the edge of the Mpenjati Nature reserve. It lies on the banks of the Black Lake, which is currently being rehabilitated. It has been in the family for 2 generations and has lots of amazing memories. The local bush buck can be found strolling around the property. There are 2 small dams on the property stocked with Tilapia. Birdlife is abundant like the fish eagle and weavers and kingfishers, to mention only a few. There are four gorgeous glamping tents available, each with their own unique feel. The tents are luxurious, with comfortable queen size beds and great quality linen and mattresses. Each has a stunning patio overlooking the waters edge, ready for you to unwind and read a book or enjoy a sundowner. A mere 4 minute away is an unspoilt stretch of pristine beach situated within a marine reserve, where at low tide, one can explore the fossil beds. You can also take a leisurely walk down to the estuary. Leave your shoes and worries behind, and unwind, relax and enjoy a great stay with us here at Kingfisher Lakeside Retreat.

Neighborhood info

This part of coast has plenty to do and see. There is the Wild Coast Casino & Resort close by with a great water park for the kids. Mac Banana is great for food, curios, segway rides, quad biking etc. The waffle house is a sure favourite for the best waffles in KZN. Great coffee roasters and world class restaurants. The San Sameer resort and golf course is close by and Oribi Gorge is a thrill seekers delight and great day out. Trafalgar has one of the few world class Blue Flag beaches with clean ablutions and pool. Pistols saloon and the crocodile farm is great on those rainy days. Plenty to do and see on this great part of the coast.
