Jonkmanshof - 30 Bath is a heritage Cape Dutch house built in 1856 and one of the oldest houses in Montagu. Montagu as a town was founded in 1851. This house is featured on the cover of the Elle Decoration, France in the April/May 2019 edition. Montagu is a small, picturesque Klein Karoo town tucked between the Langeberg mountain range and it’s the perfect luxurious escape and perfect for a couple, family or friends looking for a private boutique style getaway with personalised concierge service.
I worked in the corporate environment for nearly 30 years and decided to swop the busy city life for a quieter lifestyle in the beautiful Karoo town of Montagu in the Breede River Valley.
Montagu is on the famous Route 62 and well know for its abundance of wine, fruit and citrus farms. The town is known for its Cape Dutch and Georgian architecture and surrounded by a beautiful mountain range. The area is know for outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain and rock climbing, cycling and motor biking.
