Set on a large, peaceful Melville property with a beautiful garden and pool, the guesthouse has a gentle sense of quiet and harmony. Whether you are travelling for pleasure or business, are a visiting academic or need to be close to the hospitals, Lucky Bean is ideal. The nine rooms are all spacious, light and stylish with five-star graded beds. They have their own private entrances, most with patio space and garden views. There is complimentary high speed Wi-Fi internet connectivity, DSTV (hotel bouquet), room safes, tea and coffee facilities, a desk and chair and safe parking. For travelers, our knowledge of the city, and our assistance, ensure an easy and interesting stay, from arrival to departure.

Conway and Natasha are born and bred Joburgers. We have a great love for our city and know it well. Natasha was a dancer, a phot-journalist and now teaches Yoga. Conway worked in, and then owned bars and restaurants, and they have a great passion for music and culture. We are super warm and friendly, and only wish for our guests to feel at home and cared for, from the moment they enter our gate, to the moment that they leave.

Melville is the most central base for visiting Joburg. Its central location makes it easy to access Soweto, The Apartheid Museum, Braamfontein, the City Centre, Maboneng, the Red Hop-on Hop-off Bus, The Cradle of Humankind, Rosebank and Sandton. We are also close to University of Johannesburg, Wits University, Parklane Clinic and the Donald Gordon Medical Centre. We are perfectly positioned for visiting all of those places, and you have a selection of good restaurants, coffee shops and bars close by on 7th Street. The ideal Joburg visit is 2 or 3 days long, to allow you to truly experience how diverse and exciting the city is. Speak to us, we are happy to share!
