Company info

Ndzhaka Tented Camp is a small owner-managed safari camp located in the heart of the Manyeleti Game Reserve, one of the Greater Kruger region’s most untouched wilderness areas. With only five safari tents and a maximum of ten guests at a time, the camp offers a far more personal and intimate safari experience compared to larger commercial lodges. Our focus has always been on authentic bush experiences, warm South African hospitality, and meaningful wildlife encounters in a quiet, uncrowded environment. What makes Ndzhaka unique is its location inside the Manyeleti Game Reserve, which shares unfenced borders with the world-famous Kruger National Park and Sabi Sands Game Reserve. Wildlife moves freely between these reserves, creating exceptional opportunities for Big Five sightings and natural game viewing experiences. Guests often encounter elephants, buffalo, hyenas, antelope, and other wildlife moving directly through camp or visiting the nearby waterhole. The camp itself is intentionally rustic and immersive. Ndzhaka is unfenced and largely electricity-free, allowing guests to disconnect from busy city life and reconnect with nature. Lantern-lit evenings around the fire, open-air dining under the stars, and the sounds of the African bush at night are all part of the experience. Manyeleti translates to “Place of the Stars,” and the night skies here are truly unforgettable. Our team is passionate about conservation, wildlife, and creating genuine safari memories for every guest. The guides and camp staff are experienced, knowledgeable, and deeply connected to the surrounding area and local communities. We believe safari experiences should feel personal rather than rushed, which is why guests can expect attentive service, relaxed game drives, and a welcoming atmosphere throughout their stay. Ndzhaka is ideal for travellers looking for a more authentic safari rather than a highly commercial luxury lodge experience.

Property info

Many guests have a special place in their hearts for Ndzhaka, to the extent that they return time and again. Indeed, this fondness has even been passed on from one generation to the next. What, might you ask, makes the guests return? Of paramount significance is the excellent game viewing coupled with the relatively undiscovered beauty and tranquillity of Manyeleti Game Reserve but also undoubtedly of significance is the friendliness of the staff who make all feel at home. With a maximum of 10 guests per camp this ensures that each guest receives individual attention. Ndzhaka is situated in the magical forest setting, where during the day the resident nyalas delicately feed and the elephants often times pass by on their way to the main dam and where at night the leopards pass through. Unfenced from the bush, animals move freely through and around the camp. With guided game drives at sunrise and sunset and regular game sightings in the camps, this is a true safari experience. Under the careful watch of the resident guide it is not uncommon to see the Big 5 over a period of 3 days. Best of all: Ndzhaka Tented Camp is located within the Manyeleti Game Reserve, which shares completely open and unfenced borders with the world-renowned Sabi Sands Game Reserve and Kruger National Park. This allows wildlife to move freely across a vast wilderness ecosystem, creating exceptional Big Five viewing opportunities and a truly authentic safari experience. Guests benefit from the exclusivity and low vehicle density of Manyeleti while still enjoying access to one of Africa’s most famous wildlife regions.

Neighborhood info

Seeing the "Big Five" in the wild is one of the most memorable things one can ever experience. The African continent is the only place in the world where big game still roams freely in great numbers. In particular the Kruger National Park area and the neighboring private game reserves are famous for the incredible possibilities seeing the Big Five up close. The 23,000 hectare Manyeleti Private Game Reserve is located between the Timbavati and Sabi Sands Game Reserves and borders the world famous Kruger National Park. It is one of those very special places in the world and is the ultimate African safari destination. This premium ecological habitat borrows much of its energy from the constant hustle and bustle of the unfenced thoroughfare through which trudges the collective wildlife native to this area. Named after the Shangaan people's word for "Place of Stars", this romantic destination is spotlit each night in the most unforgettable way - a lifetime away from the glare of harsh city lights. Safari drives in the area incorporate extensive game populations. Manyeleti reserve is a rugged and thoroughly enjoyable experience.
