We love all the adventure that Mtunzini has to offer, and we will gladly arrange and sometimes join in activities like fishing, cycling, golf, barge trips, trail running or hiking. We all love birds and have a passion for the indigenous surroundings. The lodge will provide a card for free access to the beach and reserve where guests and swim, fish or just have a lovely picnic or braai.

Nguni Cottage, set in lush indigenous gardens, are alive with birds and butterflies and offer guests a nature rich and relaxing experience. Nguni Cottage is fitted with solar panels and an inverter so you will not be affected by load shedding at all. The cottage comprises of two spacious rooms suited for 2 guests each. Each room is equipped with double or single beds options, en-suite bathroom, fridge, smart T.V., air-conditioning and tea and coffee trays. Fitted with all the necessities. It’s up to you whether you opt to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings and sea breeze or join in the multitude of outdoor activities that is available. We are surrounded with numerous unique birding spots that you can view on self-guided walks or book a guide to help you spot the best sightings. The property is well secured and centrally located with a restaurant, shopping center and coffee shop all within walking distance. We can also arrange for spa and beauty treatments on request for guests at one of the local wellness centers. Nguni Cottage is fitted with solar panels and an inverter so you will not be affected by load shedding at all.

The Zulu word emthunzini means ‘a place in the shade’ and visiting this Zululand today gives exactly that feeling. Blessed with a sub-tropical climate (humid summers and mild winters) and a high annual rainfall, the small village boasts a clean, safe, peaceful and abundant environment with a stunning view of the Umlalazi Nature Reserve and sea beyond. With so many outdoor activities to choose from it will be difficult to stay indoors. Mtunzini and Umlalazi Nature Reserve boasts with some of the best trails for walking, running or cycling including the Mangrove Forest and the Raphia Palm Monument. Whether you choose self-guided birding walks through the Mangroves or the Raphia monument for a peek at the Palm nut Vulture or guided walks it will prove worth wile even for beginners. So feel free to pack tekkies and bicycles. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy our beautiful but challenging supreme 9-hole golf course and enjoy refreshments at the club afterwards.
