We bought the farm 40 years ago to escape from the city life and enjoy ourselves with horses, dogs and a passionate love for the outdoors and decided that the property would be a perfect albeit temporary escape for people who also needed to escape the city life. We decided to build cottages and now offer our guests the chance to slow down and experience true country lifestyle with birds in abundance, magnificent night sky's and quiet solitude. Nullarbor is ideal for a city escape, honeymoons, birthdays, anniversaries and naturally romantic and quiet breaks.

Nullarbor Cottages provide a peaceful and romantic break for guests in our beautifully equipped self-catering wooden or brick cottages on a small farm. The name “Nullarbor” was borrowed from the Australian Nullarbor Plains and means “No Trees” null = zero and arbour = trees. This name is however no longer appropriate as there is an abundance of shrubs, trees and flowers in the beautiful ambling gardens with rolling lawns. We have 3 sparkling pools with shady thatch lapas to relax around shared by the 10 units. Individual braais/barbeques and covered thatch lapas are provided at each unit to enjoy the outdoors while indoor fireplaces provide a romantic and cosy escape. The cottages are equipped for two adults sharing and have King or Queen size beds with en-suite bathrooms with jacuzzi spa baths and/or showers. Lovely walks into the countryside and selected units are individually fenced for pets by arrangement. Access to the property is from the R24 Rustenburg Road just past Rosewell Spa. It is a sand road 1.4km long and although all standard sedan cars will manage adequately, it does not require SUV or 4x4 vehicle, it may prove difficult for VERY low profile vehicles.

The Nullarbor holiday cottages are set in some of the most beautiful landscapes to be found in the South African countryside, giving you the chance to take strenuous hikes or gentle walks around the hills, or simply to sit back and enjoy the view from the gardens. Among the top things to do while you are here, are a visit to the unique Cradle of Humankind UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sterkfontein and Wonder Caves and numerous game drives in the area. For the more adventurous, a visit to the Canopy Tours, Hartebeespoort Cable Way, Elephant Sanctuary and Lion Park make for memorable holidays and excursions on Horseback, Quadbike or Hot Air Balloon are also options.
