Ongoye View Residence - a large guesthouse - offers a self-catered escape that feels like a slice of heaven. From the moment you arrive you’ll feel the tension melt away. With breathtaking sunsets, the serene charm of Mtunzini and a stunning rim-flow pool, this is the kind of place where you truly unwind. Ongoye View Residence is a beautiful spacious (300m2) property build on a large plot (4,000m2) with a majestic entrance for 2 to 5 persons or 6 to 10 persons (a 30% surcharge is applicable for 6-10). The plot is semi-open and adjoins the neighbours’ property allowing their lovely dogs to move freely between the two plots. The entire villa is tastefully furnished and decorated. It benefits from its own large private rim-flow pool (no safety net) with loungers and umbrellas, easy accessible via the large outside wooden stair and platform. Eye-catcher of the villa are the 2 verandas. Stunning sundowners can be viewed while relaxing on it. The property has four bedrooms on the ground floor, three with king or queensize beds and airco and one with 2 bunk beds and a propeller fan. There are two bathrooms, one for the master bedroom en-suite and one is shared. The first floor is made up of a fully-equipped open-plan kitchen, toilet, living room with an open fire place and an outdoor lounge area with dining table, seats and build-in bbq/braai. There is – on purpose - no television. Towels, linen and a baby cot will be provided Parking is for free on the plot. To ease the impact of Eskom’s loadshedding, the property is equipped with solar panels and an inverter helping ensure a more comfortable and uninterrupted stay. The on-site service manager handles maintenance and cleans bedrooms, bathrooms and toilets twice a week. Guests manage other daily cleaning. The neighbour oversees check-in and check-out. The villa will be exclusively yours during your stay. We kindly ask you to take good care of it and treat with the same respect you'd give your own home.

Just an hour’s drive from Durban’s King Shaka International Airport there is a village blessed with year-round great weather: Mtunzini, that sits on South Africa’s north coast in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), where the warm waters of the Indian Ocean meet untouched natural beauty. KZN enjoys a warm, coastal climate with plenty of sunshine and a fair amount of (short) light rainfall during some months. Summer is generally quite warm and even the winters are mild to warm. Much of this is owing to its subtropical latitude and its affiliation with the Indian Ocean. Often described as Zululand’s best-kept secret, Mtunzini is a peaceful hideaway for those who love the sea, lagoon adventures, nature reserves, golf and safaris. Its greatest attraction is its pristine environment: lush indigenous forests, a sparkling estuary and long, unspoiled sand beaches that invite endless exploration. Mtunzini is highly rated by birdwatchers with over 300 species recorded in the area. The lagoon and beach are 2 km. away and is ideal for fishing, water skiing and boat cruises are available for events or sunset outings. Numerous nature trails and hiking routes have been mapped out. Game reserves like Hluhluwe/Umfolozi, Thula Thula, Mkuze, Sungulwane and Pinda are at a 1 to 2 ½ hour drive only. Mtunzini is also the perfect base for exploring the Drakensberg mountains, world heritage sites and historical landmarks. The village itself is charming and has restaurants, cozy coffee shops, a Spar, pharmacies, spa and wellness facilities, a medical clinic and other essential stores; all around the corner. Everything you need for a relaxed stay or spontaneous dining out. For sports enthusiasts, the local country club offers golf (9 holes) and tennis while the village also provides facilities for bowls and horse riding. A friendly ski-boat club supports both estuary and offshore fishing adventures. Spend a little time here and you’ll understand Mtunzini is easy to fall in love with.
