I am an artist and create colorful Meerkat and other art. I am laid-back and do not pretend to be the owner of a fancy 5 star place. I play guitar and sing and dress casually. I do everything in my guest house myself, including making beds, laundry, ironing, preparing meals and washing the dishes.....And I love it!

The Purple House is an arty, funky and fun place to visit. The owner, Johann is an artist and creates colourful Meerkat and other art. The house is nearly 107 years old and the wooden floors has a character of it's own. High ceilings air conditioning and insulation in the ceilings make it cool in summer and warm in winter. When you walk into the house you will immediately feel at home in Smithfield. 2 rooms inside the house and others are separate on it's own.

Lots to do in Smithfield. Golf, mountaineering, cycling, bird watching, drinking, eating, walking and chilling out on a 100 year old stoep.
