Riverbend Chalets (Gold Crown Resort) is set within the scenic Drakensberg Garden and features views of lush landscapes and the majestic Drakensberg Mountain Range. The resort has a restaurant, children’s playground and outdoor swimming pool. The 2-bedroom units come fitted with an open plan lounge and dining area, a kitchen and a patio offering views. The resort’s restaurant features an à la carte and buffet menu, and guests can enjoy a drink at the bar. There is also a spa and wellness center, mini golf and a tennis court. Guests can enjoy various activities in the surroundings, including golfing and horse riding. King Shaka International Airport is a 3 hour 30 minutes’ drive away.

Whether it is hiking, golfing, tennis, fishing, bowling, or simply finding a quiet spot to read and relax, Riverbend Chalets has it all – and much much more. The Riverbend Chalets are an ideal destination for the whole family. The spectacular views are best seen from the top of Beacon Hill. A nine hour climb to and from the Rhino Horn is definitely not for the faint-hearted, but well worth the experience! Holidays are when memories are made, and for years, the Gooderson Drakensberg Gardens Golf & Spa Resort has been doing exactly that. Chat to any number of Riverbend owners and they will regale you with stories of how long they have been vacationing at the Resort… There are stories of when they met and how they have celebrated some incredible number of anniversaries on the Resort and how the tradition has continued with their children. Riverbend is the pot of gold at the end of many a nostalgic rainbow.

Riverbend Chalets are situated at Gooderson Drakensberg Gardens Golf & Leisure Resort, on 860 acres of World Heritage site, set against the majestic Drakensberg mountain range on the lush banks of the Umzimkulu River. The Riverbend Chalets were built in 1989, and as soon as the timeshare units became available they were sold out, and continue to be as popular today, if not more sought after, than they were in their yesteryear. These six sleeper self- catering units are attractively decorated, and are serviced from Monday to Saturday. Sunday services can be arranged at a nominal fee. Each unit has a fully equipped kitchenette, radio, limited DSTV, individual braai facilities and a fire place for those chilly winter evenings when the snow dusts the “Dragons Back”.
