Originally the estate was called Marabou Estate and our cottage was the owners fishing cottage, hence the wooden cottage. We stubbled on it purely by chance. It has been our family holiday home for the past 10 years and we have spent many fabulous holidays. It's homely, comfortable, warm, rustic. It's totally different to our day to day city living as it's solar and gas power only. The tranquil setting, quietness and spectacular views drew us further in at each stay. Never have we miss not having access to TV, WIFI or cell phone connectivity (You can get connectivity at the main gate and the lucky ones get it on the the deck) but instead we went on early morning walk, fishing or a swim around the dam. Nights were spent around the fire chatting or playing board games. Over the years, we have seen the most breath taking starry nights and some of the most heavy snow falls. SUV or 4x4's are required to access the road to Star Dam Estate. We hope you too make happy wonderful memories as we have - enjoy your stay and make yourself at home.
