Sunset View Cottage is a free standing cottage on a small holding in rural Underberg. It is an upmarket, exclusive, romantic couples’ getaway. This stylish, newly renovated cottage has double glazing throughout as well as insulation below the floor and in the ceiling to create an ambient temperature no matter what the weather. The panoramic views of the Southern Drakensberg mountains are breath-taking. The cottage has 1 bedroom with a luxury Queen bed, electric blankets, and upmarket linen. There is an en-suite bathroom with an enormous shower. Sunset View is close to all amenities but is in a beautiful rural setting with spectacular views of the Giants Cup and surrounding farmlands. Sunset View Cottage has an open plan living area & the kitchen has a gas stove/countertop halogen oven and air fryer ,dishwasher, fridge, kettle, microwave, and toaster. The living area leads out to an enclosed verandah with a built-in braai and beautiful stacking doors to maximize the incredible view of the Southern Drakensberg mountains and farm views. There is also a new glass fronted wood burner in the lounge to enjoy on those crisp winter nights. Wi-Fi and DSTV is free. Enjoy your private garden where there is a stone firepit and outdoor braai for beautiful starlit evenings. . Tranquility and peace here at Sunset View Cottage, a home from home on a stunning, quiet rural small holding . At the back of the property you have river access which you can walk down to and just sit and relax or for the more adventurous , you can swim. We have very friendly dogs, cats, chickens , Indian Runner ducks and donkeys on the property who love to engage with guests if they are encouraged to do so. We have full solar facilities and a backup generator. Your stay won't be interrupted by loss of electricity.We have a very efficient solar geyser.

I am a retired teacher and my husband is a retired electrical engineer. I am a keen cook, gardener and DIY enthusiast. I am also passionate about animals and work tirelessly to rehome or assist animals in need. We designed Sunset View Cottage around our natural environment of rock, indigenous grasses and wide open spaces. Almost everthing we have done ourselves. We love to share our knowledge and love for the beautiful area we live in , in the Southern Drakensberg. Outdoor living is what we love and we have incorporated all of this into Sunset View Cottage.

Take hikes to the river or tackle the bigger well-known hikes in the Berg, swim and have a picnic or just relax at your luxurious piece of heaven in the berg. The hosts are more than happy to assist with ideas or contacts to go and eat out or tour up the pass.There is river access from the back of the property and a beautiful private river beach area or uoh can walk to the weir. Underberg is an outdoor lovers paradise. Famous landmarks are The Sani Pass, renowned hikes, an excellent museum , gourmet restaurants and many more.
