Things to do in and around Dan Pienaar. Oliewenhuis Art Museum is housed in a Neo-Dutch style mansion which served as residence for the Governor General of the Union of South Africa. In 1985 it was converted into an Art Museum as a satellite of the National Museum Bloemfontein. The Free State Botanical Gardens are situated on the northern outskirts of Bloemfontein. The botanical garden is home to 400 species of plants, two dams, and an indigenous Karee and wild olive dominated vegetation. Visit the Sand du Plessis Theatre as well as the Andre Hugenoot Theatre for ballets, opera, plays, choir performances etc.
