Thulamela is an ideal getaway for couples wanting a quiet breakaway "away from it all" - each cottage is stuck away in natural bush, with the emphasis on rest and recoup! Privacy and seclusion - we value our guests requests, and cater for any special needs eg. proposals, anniversary celebrations, picnics into the world-famous Kruger National Park on safari, girlfriend-getaways, mom and daughter bonding-time! A trained massage therapist can be booked for wonderful couple massages in the privacy of your cottage or on the deck (at an extra cost) and private catering options for guests eg. a yummy chocolate fondue, snazzy snack platters and wholesome braai goodie baskets can be ordered as extras.
The deck jacuzzi is ideal for special conversations and memory-making moments.

Penny is a trained Dietician, and will cater for specific dietary needs, on request. Thulamela opened its doors in October 1996, with the desire to create an accommodation destination that would "tick the boxes" for couples wanting a quiet and intimate breakaway close to Gauteng, ideally suited for a weekend breakaway. The Thulamela-team is passionately focused on ensuring our guests are happy!
Hazyview is a tourism-town, with a wide range of activities from "mild to wild" - adventure activities like river rafting, horse-riding, aerial cable trail, paintball, quadbiking, the Big Swing in Graskop (approx 40km away), mountain-biking, hikes, KNP safaris. The area is also farming-rich and farm tours can be arranged (macadamia, ginger). The nearby KNP (approx 12km away) is home to the BIG 5 and day tours are arranged. We have a local coffee-bean grower and Shiloh Coffee has a lovely coffee shop venue and tours are offered. Thulamela is ideally suited to explore the scenic area of the Panorama Route, God's Window and the Blyde Canyon. No visit to Thulamela is complete without a day visit to Kaapschehoop and the wild horses there. There is a lovely artists ramble in and around White River with visits to the Bosch and Eloff studios a must.
