Willowbrooke offers guests an upmarket, self-catering accommodation for up to 7 guests in a cypress-log and thatch cottage in Himeville, a district in the Southern Drakensberg one of the most incredibly beautiful parts of our country. Downstairs the en-suite master bedroom overlooks the dam through feature windows and the heated bathroom boasts a sizeable tub, shower and ‘his-and-hers’ vanities with the second bedroom being a king-size bedroom. A charming loft bedroom offers three single beds and a stunning view over Willowbrooke Dam. A second bathroom is equipped with a shower, loo and hand basin. A cosy yet spacious lounge is warmed by a log fire and the large, open-plan kitchen and dining area is equipped with all the utensils and appliances you may need. High quality cotton linen, down duvets and heated under-blankets on all the beds will ensure a comfortable night’s rest. A spacious terrace with your own jacuzzi overlooks a newly built 'Boma Braai and Firepit' which is a well lit area, while the boathouse and dam are mere metres away Willowbrooke is a fifty acre farm with landscaped gardens and the country home of your hosts Alan and Michele Howard.
Willowbrooke Cottage is on the banks of a well-stocked two- hectare trout dam. The dam is fed year-round by pristine springs rising from the hillside and supplemented by summer rainfall. The rainbow trout that thrive in this healthy ecosystem grow quickly and fight hard! Fishing is controlled and the dam is carefully monitored. Guests are required to pay a rod-fee (R150pp per day - dawn to dusk) and adhere to the daily bag limit. A rowing boat is available. Walking and birding are relaxing and popular pursuits. The gardens are a delight and numerous varieties of dahlias, roses and indigenous plants can be enjoyed. There are a few secluded spots with benches where guests can settle down with a good book. A large variety of water fowl and other birds can be found at Willowbrooke. Willowbrooke is a popular venue for photographers. Identification sheets are provided for you to fill in and we encourage guests to add to our expanding list of species....
