Inns in Sunbury

Everything! Nick and Jane, the owners of the pub and the apartments upstairs, were wonderful. Jane especially was a godsend. We had checked into another cottage the previous night and were planning to stay there for 2 nights. However the place turned out to be extremely rundown, dirty and unhygienic. We decided to leave first thing in the morning. Given that it was the easter weekend, it was difficult to find availability in any of the local hotels or AirBnB places. We got lucky to find a room at the Jolly Cooper. I had messaged Jane the previous night at the time of my booking and described our situation with the place we stayed in the first night and expressed my desperation to leave asap. I heard from Jane promptly the next morning. She was extremely understanding and let us check in well before the standard check in time. We were carrying 3 heavy pieces of luggage and Nick was kind enough to help us up the flight of stairs. The apartment itself was extremely clean, modern, well stocked and comfortable. The pub downstairs, and the attached restaurant, was wonderful. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was very good! All in all-this is a great place to experience classic English hospitality, good food, drinks and extremely nice and considerate owners, Nick and Jane.

Loved the atmosphere in the pub and the rooms upstairs. Everything was very clean, beds were comfortable and everyone was very kind. Great breakfast!! Even if the rooms were on the Main Street, the double windows didn’t let any noise through and we slept wonderfully. LOVED the brownies !!

Great location, very quiet with an excellent restaurant. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. We have stayed several times and will be back.

The Rose is a great choice for a place to stay walking distance from Richmond in a historic property. The rooms are simple but comfortable and clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Sunday roast is excellent if you get the chance.

Very comfortable- staff couldn’t be more helpful. Very quiet with public car park next door. Some reviews say rooms are small- I didn’t think this was case. Didn’t use extra kitchen- but I can see how it could be useful.

Quiet, comfy room in a charming place.

Perfect location for Heathrow.

I was here for 2 weeks and the room was great, the service was good, and the drinks are reasonably priced in the pub downstairs. Wi-fi is strong enough to work remotely in the room, and there are tons of meal options close to the hotel if you don't want to eat in the pub every night. I also had no problem getting to central London at most times of the day.

Clean, spacious, wonderful people!

We wanted something just outside London, quiet, within walking distance of the tube and something with personality. The Dukes Head Inn checked all the boxes. An added bonus, after our day touring in London we decided to eat at the pub downstairs. It was wonderful.

Excellent, friendly staff. Comfy beds. Great location. We also ate there and the food was very good.
