I was worried about the shared bathroom when we booked, but it turned out to be an absolutely lovely place. Everything was very comfortable and clean, the breakfasts were delicious, and you really feel close to nature there. The hosts were also very hospitable.

The female owner is really friendly and provided helpful hints where to have dinner nearby or where to go out for a walk. We got a map of the "Loonse en Drunense Duinen", a natural reserve which is worth a visit. At a Sunday or national holiday, however, it is recommendable to arrive up to 10 am because because both biker and liker are fond of these area. "Hoeve de Mertel" has a small shop where own products and cheese from local producers are sold.

Charming inn in the Dutch countryside, friendly owners and community. Very clean and comfortable rooms and a good breakfast included. Exceeded my expectations entirely.

We spent our honeymoon there and we are positively surprised by the hospitality of the owners especially Helma such a sweet woman that made sure we were welcomed. Great room and breakfast was superb, also invited for dinner and we had a lot of fun and joy overall we loved our stay and would gladly come back any time.
