The Waldvilla Schönau provided us with exceptionally exceptional (for lack of a better superlative) comfort in all aspects of our stay. Check in was super easy with a numbered code for entry. Communication efficient and friendly. We stayed in the Waldblick Suite, which had a private fenced patio overlooking trees, a charming stream, and romantic valley. While our suite is located in a quiet spot at the back of the property, the whole house is designed to give maximum privacy in any room. Inside, our accommodation was super modern-stylish with a warm cozy feel (a feat that speaks to design genius and attention to detail in my mind.) All of it so sparkly clean that nothing could blot our comfort. The amities, such as a TV, kitchen area, heating and bathroom are designed for easy adjustability to personal preference. The breakfast basket options are healthy, fresh, delicious and a visual feast! In addition, guests can find a store in the common area by the Spa, which offers drinks, to include wine and beer, snacks and toiletries, for the fairest prices we have ever seen at any hotel, resort, etc. . To top it off, the little store operates on a trust-forward basis, meaning guests write down what they purchased and then pay the appropriate little price they charge. Personally I think, nothing makes you feel more human and special than being trusted. The Spa itself was equally modern, cozy, and hygienic which allowed my husband and me perfect relaxation and zen. Surrounding the house is a garden that leads to a trail from which you may hike forever through the beautiful rolling Rhön mountains. If you are fit enough, you can attempt a 3-4 hour hike to the Kreuzberg Monastery brewery. Since we heard about the quality of the beer, we opted to hitch ride :) In sum, the Waldvilla Schönau invites you to "let your soul softly swing to the rhythm of a gentle mid-summer-night's dream.

Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean rooms

I think this is the nicest hotel within such close walking distance to the center of town, located just a five minute walk from the train station. There is plenty of parking, and the breakfast is magnificent.

I think we all know how special this place is, the saunas and pools were magical. I didn’t want to leave. My room was so comfy!
