I have gone earlier and the woman in the lobby was very kind and polite, and they have taken my baggage, my bag, to keep it till I come back to check in. So I could go around sightseeing, incl. to the castle and came to check in later. It is a nice hotel, comfortable, modern, and I was pleased to pass one night in Imabari. They had good Wi-Fi and internet, and I could transfer my photos and make free the memory of my phone for the next day. It is very near to the station.

The house is very well-maintained considering it was built in the Showa era. The interior is spacious and clean, and there’s a lot of green space outside. There’s even a small road at the back of the property which runs alongside a creek. It is a very calm, laidback location. The surrounding areas are mostly farmland, hills, and mountains. Very rural and full of natural beauty. Life here is quaint and slow. Hisato-san is a wonderful host. He’s always there to help, and very open to conversations. The hospitality is second to none. I definitely felt like family during my stay.

The private onsen with sea view was amazing. The room itself was nice as well, it was a small tatami room and there's also a balcony next to the bath. We had dinner at the restaurant which was good and very reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and helpful. In the hallway and from outside it's visible that everything is a bit older already, but that didn't bother us, the room and bath are well maintained and renovated I assume.
